The North Korean Dilemma and Japan
Prof. Yasuyo SAKATA was a research fellow of the Research Institute for Peace and Security (Tokyo) Security Studies Program (1992-94), visiting research fellow at the Institute of Modern Korean Studies at Yonsei University (2008-09) and the Sigur Center for Asian Studies at George Washington University (2014). She is a member of the Japan Ministry of Defense Central Deliberative Council on Defense Facilities. She is a board member of the Japan Association for International Security and the Association for Contemporary Korean Studies in Japan.
Her publications (co-authored) include US-Japan Security Alliance (Palgrave), Trilateralism and Beyond (Kent State UP)(a National Security Archives project), Japan’s Foreign Policy Challenges in East Asia (Stimson Center), Japan’s Security Strategy Toward China in the Era of Power Shift (Tokyo Foundation).
